Chezzetcook Inlet Acadian Centre (CIAC)
The CIAC is a unique cultural and performing arts centre located on Nova Scotia’s Eastern Shore. It is well positioned to serve as a hub for social, cultural, and economic activities, showcasing and celebrating the region’s rich Acadian heritage.
The Centre is expected to be open around December 2025.
L’Acadie is creating this unique venue on the Eastern Shore to support the following key activities:
Community Programming
The space will support local arts, exhibitions, workshops, markets, and programs for youth, seniors, and underrepresented groups (e.g., Indigenous, African Nova Scotian, LGBTQ2+ groups), integrating it further into the community fabric.
Venue for Events and Performances
The Centre will host concerts, plays, non-religious ceremonies, school events, community gatherings, and other celebrations in a unique, acoustically rich setting, fostering connections among residents and visitors.
Conference and Meeting Facility
Equipped for workshops, seminars, and corporate retreats, the Centre’s serene and historic location offers an ideal blend of business and leisure. Its proximity to Halifax and Dartmouth and its capacity makes it a competitive location for any business looking for an out-of-office venue.
Tourism and Cultural Hub
As part of the Coastal Scenic Corridor, the site will attract visitors exploring the Eastern Shore region, featuring interpretive displays and interactive exhibits on Acadian history and culture at the Centre. These assets are further enhanced by l'Acadie's main site, including its museum and tearoom, all less than 1km from the Centre.
